This 'game' might not even be called a game. The makers have labeled it as an "interactive drama", which is a pretty appropriate term, I think. It is the definition of a new genre of games, one that I hope other studios will try to make games for in the future.
When I played this game, my hands were literally sweating on the controller during some of the more intense scenes. My girlfriend, who has been known to watch me play video games only if it is Civilization Revolution, was pleading with me to play this game more so she could see what happens. A decision a character must make near the end of the game had us discussing together the possible results of each choice before I committed to the action.
The story is not without its problems. It has loose ends that I can only describe as 'holes'. But make no mistake, this is the beginning of a new genre of video games, and I'm sure we'll see improvement in plot writing in future games.
If you're sitting on the fence about buying this game, I say go for it! I had a lot of fun with it, but even if you are not so impressed, it is definitely a unique and interesting experience that will give you an idea of what might be coming in the future.Get more detail about Heavy Rain.
