After playing this game for a little over a week, I can honestly say that I enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed BFBC1 - the game that got me hooked on this series. When I first played this game I immediately noticed how different it was from part 1. Besides the obvious difference of new maps, multiplayer gameplay, and a single player storyline that is far more interesting and fun than that in BFBC1, this game fixes some drawbacks of BFBC1; namely weapon physics and soldier classes. These things really come to light when playing online, and that's when you realize that you can't do some of the things that you did in BFBC1. That's what got me at first, and also lowered my opinion of the game, but once I learned, I began to enjoy.
Since everyone pretty much plays this game online, that's what I'll talk about.
The main differences between BFBC1 and BFBC2.
-No health syringes. You health charges back up like in COD, but slower. Though there are still teammates who can drop health packs for you. Also, if you die, your medic-class teammates can revive you back to life where you died, regaining that lost ticket for the team.
-Weapons. This is the main thing that separates part 1 and 2. In part 1, you could keep your sights on the enemy, fire and keep firing without worrying much about your ammo supply or about the rifle's recoil. This is a huge factor in part two. The rifles have recoil and wander off above their line of sight like a real rifle would, so there's no more long bursts of fire at long distances, rather short and controlled bursts. This also means players have less health. This is to compensate for the increased difficulty in landing bullets on enemies. There are also no more ammo crates; the only way one can load up on ammo is having an assault-class teammate drop an ammo pack for you.
-Sensors suck. They don't sense continuously, instead every 2 seconds or so. This greatly diminishes the value of the recon-class in my opinion. With the fact that there are no ammo crates, sensors cannot be thrown all over the place.
-Everything arcs. Bullets, tank rounds, rpg rockets, ect... Every shot that is taken with any weapon has to have arc accounted for.
-Fewer classes. Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Recon. Assault can supply teammates with ammo, engineers can fix vehicles as well as destroy them with anti tank mines and rpgs, medic can heal and revive dead teammmates, recon can call mortar strikes (no more j-dams) and use c4 on vehicles.
There is just too much to write about. It's different. You have to play different especially if you always played as a running and gunning shotgunning demolition guy, or as a sensor throwing sniper. But if you always played as assault, specialist, or support you won't have any trouble adjusting since it will pretty much be the same thing except with the weapon physics and all.Get more detail about Battlefield Bad Company 2.
