Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Order Now

You cannot go wrong with super ninja action. I had a wonderful time playing this game. The main bonus of this game over the first Sigma title is that it is longer and there are difficulty options. For first time ninja gaiden players, you can choose an easy difficulty so you don't break your tv with the controller. The only thing that struck me as odd about this game was the purple haze that takes the place of the blood, although this did not bother me that much as how do we know what demon ninja blood really looks like? There are 17 levels in this game. Graphics are nice; gameplay is decent. The music in this game is also fitting. Anyways, if you just want to chop some demon ninjas up with a variety of martial arts weapons then this game is for you!!!Get more detail about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Alone in the Dark: Inferno Decide Now

I'd never played any of the previous four AITD video games so I figured I'd be lost an unable to keep up with this one, but the previews looked good so I added it to my wishlist, where it remained until the price came down.

You play as Edward Carnby, a man who has lost his memory. Edward wakes up in a crumbling Central Park West apartment building. A supernatural force is ripping through the walls and turning the inhabitants into mutated killers. A huge earthquake rips Manhattan apart and on top of that there are ugly monsters spawning all over the park. It's all part of a prophecy (yawn) in which Edward must prevent Lucifer from entering into the world.

The plot is mostly mumbo-jumbo. But the main strength of the game is the oppressive, claustrophobic atmosphere that turns a supposedly safe environment bustling with people (Manhattan island) into a lonely, apocalyptic nightmare. As a survival horror it's not as good as the Resident Evil series, and it doesn't have tension that made those games so good. I never felt scared to look around a corner or felt fear of what was lurking in the darkness beyond the character's view. But it's fast moving enough and gives you plenty of monsters to shoot at (though it's never satisfying enough and totally bloodless). It's also the 86th game in a row I've played that features Central Park.

Despite my complaining, I never got bored with the game or felt it was hard to control (I played the PS3 version, which improves on the Xbox 360 release). Though when driving around a shrub or a bush is completely impenetrable to a two-ton car and it's kinda infuriating. The fact that trophies are handed out left, right and centre makes up for it.

The ending hints at a sequel, which has yet to materialize. But AITD is a fine way to spend a few bucks and a few days playing.

Rock Band: Country Track Pack Right now

I think this is a great game for all those who love country music. Like any rock band game if you can't sing you get booed off stage; so if you have young kids this can get a little discouraging for them. The game has a wide variety of songs that range from old country to newer country. I would love to see another country rock band come out. This game is a little harder I think than regular rock band but still fun to play!Get more detail about Rock Band: Country Track Pack.

Lowest Price Component A/V Cable

I purchased these cables based on another review on Amazon. I replaced the red/yellow/white AV cables with these and really cleared up the fuzzy video on my Vizio 32" flat screen TV. I am using a PS2. It made the video and text graphics very clear. I was hoping it would also fix the shaky video that occurs when there is a serious assembly of players and action near the top of the box (sorry for the football talk), but alas this must be a bug in the game.Get more detail about Component A/V Cable.

Low Price Tom Clancy's EndWar

Wow! It has the simplicity of tic-tac-toe and the complexity of playing multiple chess matches simultaneously. The first couple times I played was without a headset. Even with the headset on the first few times I thought it was going to be too difficult to play and enjoy. There is a steep learning curve but the basics can be conquered in a few days of playing it.

I started with the solo-game. The first section which is about nine battles is also a tutorial. It teaches you the basics of the game. You have to learn what each unit does and how best to use them in battle to achieve your objectives. You also have to learn how to get them to do what you want them to do. That's where voice control comes in.

Once you get beyond the "Prelude to War" missions you then begin battling for World domination. You are presented with a global map and each of the three factions US/Europe/Russia battle each turn for control of more territory. You choose which "City" of territory to go after or you can defend one of your "cities" from attack. My first choice was to battle the European forces that had gained control of a city in Florida. At the end of my battle win or lose the system will show you the "new" global map; who now controls what.

The objectives of each mission so far have been one of two things. You either attack or defend by destroying ALL the hostile forces or gaining control of more uplinks and holding them until the timer expires. That's the tic-tac-toe of it. If there are nine uplinks you have to control 5 then hold til the timer expires to win. You decide which units to bring to the battle. You decide which uplinks to go after and in what order. You decide which reinforcements to call up during the battle. That's the multi-chess part of it. It gets hot and heavy and very dynamic. You are continually assessing the situation, ordering units movements and actions, monitoring battles, extracting units to fight another day, ordering specific reinforcements and on and on, during the battle.

One of the key elements is your command vehichle. Without one you cannot have a satellite view of the battle field; which is the easiest way to command and control your units and know where the enemy is. I lost mine during a battle and lost the battle. I felt blind as a bat.

An uplink is a bunker that is used as a place to be controlled to achieve victory. It can be upgraded to help you use your advanced skills (Airstrikes, Electronic Warefare, etc...). My strategy to date has been to capture the most centrally located uplink and use it as a springboard to capture other uplinks. I'll station my artillery there because usually they can reach hostiles closing in on the other uplinks (tic-tac-toe). The battle can be and is most successfully fought using the satellite view aka sitrep.

There is so much to like about this game. If you like War games and Real-time-Strategy games, you are going to LOVE this one. I am already thoroughly enjoying it and I've still got tons to learn.

One last thing I enjoy. You can get a mission brief before each battle. Pay attention to your intell and objectives. What you have to accomplish and what the opposition is going to throw at you should dictate your tactics and what units you bring to the battle. Also when you transition to the WWIII phase you get to decide what your Battalion consists of from a choice of Battalion types. Airborne has more air units, Tactical has more Tanks, Assault is more balanced and is what I chose. You can also upgrade your units from the currency you earn in battle. You get graded on each mission and earn credits to be used to upgrade.

I have not played online in the "Theater of War" mode yet. Trying to hone my skills cause I'm thinking the competition is going to be tough online.

Really fun game!

Save SOCOM: US Navy Seals Confrontation Stand Alone

Yes I too am a fan of SOCOM 3 and Combined Assault which they made for the PS2. I too would rather play the campaign mode in single player, with an occasional stroll onto online play. However, a lot of the negative reviews that I read were from people who said they didn't know the game was online only when they bought it. It states on the packaging that it is online only, and with all the reviews available online today, plus clips you can find on You Tube, it should have taken a minute to confirm that this is an online only game.

But, that said it is difficult to understand why Slant Six would take this successful franchise (and one of my personal favorites) and make it an online mode only. I think the obvious answer is that they knew they could cash in quick and make some huge profits. You must realize that some companies don't care about their reputation or where they will be 10 years from now. They get in, make a bundle of money, get out, and then resurface a few years later under a different company name.

The graphics are not terrible but they aren't anything special either. Certainly not what you would expect for a PS3 game. In fact I think the graphics on Combined Assault were probably better. The online play is about what you would expect - sometimes fun if you get into a good game, but an equal number of times there's a bunch of dingleberrys on there ruining your gaming experience. However, I haven't had any connectivity issues or getting booted out of games like I've heard other people mention. And the game has been out for going on 2 years now, and there are still many, many people playing online.

I like the interface of the game and I like how you can customize your two players. You get a "commando" and a "mercenary." If they would have made the in-game graphics as good as the interface graphics, that would have been awesome! Also, where's the SOCOM music? The main theme song for both SOCOM 3 and Combined Assault were fantastic! Some of the best gaming theme songs out there. This game has none. Another disappointment.

I think your enjoyment of this game will hinge on how good you become at online play. I've been playing it for about a week, and plan to keep on playing it for now, but there are a lot of skilled players online and it takes a lot of play hours I think to learn the maps, where the best sniping spots are, where is a good place to hide, etc. And there are always gonna be fools ruining the online gaming experience. Let's hope, however, that SOCOM 4 which is due out in fall is a much better game with a well-developed campaign mode.

Buy Gel Tabz Universal Silicon Grip

The gel material is really comfortable. The only problem is during heavy action when they come right off the thumb sticks. I guess you could glue them on to alleviate the problem, but I would think this would have been addressed during development. I'd love to use them, but stopping for a half second during a heated hockey game or MW2 match to remove the curled up gel tab is not acceptable. They're currently collecting dust.Get more detail about Gel Tabz Universal Silicon Grip.

Purchase Terminator Salvation

This game doesn't follow the movie storyline, thank God for that.
There aren't that many weapons or special moves to do in the game, there just seems no reason why you should buy this except for one thing, getting trophies/achievements. this game has very easy trophies/achievements to get that you can get them all through your 1st run through.

Anything else about this game will not make you want to buy it, not even the co-op, so if your looking for a good game go for something else you should already know that games that are made for movie promotion will not turn out well. But in the case your our for your trophies/ achievements then by all means get this and level up.Get more detail about Terminator Salvation.

Order PlayStation 3 40GB

I have a hard time recamending this system. First off I,ve only brought about 5 games for my ps3 2 of witch I never played. between the other 3 Hevenly sword, folklore, and valkyria I dought I have 100 gaming hours on my disc drive. and its already failed. It no longer spins. I have only watched 2 blue rays and 1 dvd (twice). Thats not acceptable. thus the 1 star

I barrly used it since I,m always on my xbox core system. first gen. release, and yes 30 plus games latter 100+ hours just on soul calibur its still woking fine.

Things i didn't like about my ps3 b4 it broke.

6 axis control

playstaion network and store. (adopted xbox first and even tho free psn cant even be compaierd to the quallity of xbox live) xbox live is definatly the better choice for social gaming.

few exlusive titles of intrest. I brought mine for FF13 and blue-ray and ended up bying FF13 for xbox after sony lost the excusive

The trophies. copies of achivments on xbox aren't as easy to view and didn't catch my intrest.

Things i did like.

The playstaion controller has a better d pad.

The blue ray was able to play a dvd that skipped on all my dvd players the day it came out of box ( the burn looked wavy think it was skipping during burn).

Exlusive games like hevenly sword almost made it worth bying.

The blue-ray ps3 at the time was cheaper then blue-ray players. but alass that is the part that failed in 100 hours.

In all its not a bad system its getting to point were its got the games. but the 40 and 60 gig modles have hardware problems. If you havn't injoyed xbox live you wount know what your missing on psn, but if you get a ps3 get the new slim or 80 gig. they seem to not have the blue-ray lazer and moter fail problems.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 40GB.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I must say I was excited to hear about a Transformers 2 game. If you love Transformers, this game is great because it puts you right into the robot-clashing action. The game is seriously action packed, with timed missions and dangerous enemies.

Pros: Good graphics, transformers appearence is accurate; lots of action.

Cons: Human characters are underdone, missions are similar, A.I. repeat things ALOT.(I know this happens alot, but I find it particulary annoying in this game.)

My friend and I played this game for hours, and I thought it was pretty cool, dispite the fact that it has no multiplayer. (Except online) My friend ended up buying the game. Overall, in this case you should try before you buy.Get more detail about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

PlayStation 3 AV Cable Review

Ok, i saw this on amazon a day or two ago, and it looked interesting. I needed a new AV cable for my PS3 anyway, being as it's almost 4 years old. so i order it, $3.99 one-day shipping (Amazing). So I get it, open it, and i think to myself, "Goddamn it Sony, Damn it..." The wires are only split about 4 inches down, then it all merges into one cable... now this is a bad thing for me because i have a stereo, and i need the left and right audio wire to be at least 3 feet long, but since it's all basically one wire, i need to go to RadioShack and get some RCA couplers and more wires. If you have a stereo as well, do not do the same thing as me! make sure you buy couplers and wires with to hook up everything with first (Providing you don't have those items already). It's still a nice cable, and i intend to use it, but i wish sony would make it known to their loyal customers of what their product is.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 AV Cable.

Universal Metal Pedal Top Quality

The original bass pedal that came with my Rock Band 2 set lasted for over a year until the plastic base cracked. So I purchased this pedal at Best Buy thinking it looked like a sturdy replacement.

Wrong. Dead wrong. After playing 4-5 times the plastic base cracked and split apart, making the thing useless.

I'll be buying the official pedal replacement this time around. Thanks for nothing, Nyko.Get more detail about Universal Metal Pedal.

Iron Man 2 Buy Now

Well, most of us know, that the first Iron Man game wasn't exactly GOTY material and we didn't expect it to be. We did, however, expect to get a well made Iron Man game. We didn't get that either. While the first game wasn't bad, the second one outdoes it one every level.

Iron Man 2 is fun! Pure and simple. The flight is much easier and enjoyable. The customization comes close to rivaling Army of Two's weapons customization. The story is not based on the movie! They say 5% of the movie is in the game. Well those 5% are the likenesses and voices performed by two actors from the movie. That's it. That being said, this is not a movie game. You have an entirely new storyline and different enemies.

Now it's time for the bad stuff.
The controls are a little hard at first but once you get them down, it's a piece of cake. Customizing your suit is a little tedious but the same goes for it. The biggest drawback is the story. It's very short. You can blow through this game in about 5 hours or so. But you can play it at least twice due to the fact that you can choose to be either Tony or Rhodie for most of the missions therefore giving you different dialogue throughout the game. The animation is a little tough on the eyes as well especially during the cut scenes but that's not why you'll play this game.

You'll play this game for the pure exhilaration of blowing stuff up and being Iron Man or War Machine! Very simple. If you've got some time to spare then check this one out (rental is suggested). It's fun, short, and to the point.Get more detail about Iron Man 2.

Need For Speed Carbon Order Now

I love the Need For Speed series. Carbon is good for the racing. The PS3 version looks much better than the PS2 version as it should but the gameplay is identical. While this title is not as good as Need For Speed Most Wanted, it adds back the drift racing that was removed from Most Wanted. I didn't really miss it that much as I'm not that good of a drift driver (though I do manage to win a few of the races by sheer luck). The pursuits are about the same as in Most Wanted, but for some reason, I enjoyed Most Wanted more. All in all, Carbon is a solid title and a good time passer until I can afford to get NFS Shift. I've got Shift on my PC and it's very much like Gran Turismo, but I'm looking forward to playing it on the PS3.Get more detail about Need For Speed Carbon.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania Decide Now

Review for the PS3 version of the game .
For the most part this plays the same as the 360 , however it does some grahics hiccups during the gameplay. I used to own this for my Xbox360 but have since gotten rid of xbox on account of being tired of getting the E74 error and having to send it in. Right away when I played the PS3 version I noticed that the ring color kind of flashes and there is a bit of blur everytime you hit someone. Also when you the matches are over the crowd closest to the screen looks like 8 bit characters. Also in the Rumble and Battle Royal your charachters have frame rate issues and their outlines look digitized for a split second. Nothing huge that you can't get used to but it sucks they didn't fix that for this obviously ported game.

Onto the game itself
-It is not a smackdown vs raw game, if that is what you were hoping for you will hate this game.
It is more like the old arcade games, kinda like a 3D version of Wrestlefest and WWF Superstars.
The roster is great , There are a few characters missing like Macho Man , Ricky Steamboat, and Demolition but they did get most of them.

This game is not perfect, but it is alot of fun and you can now buy it for $20 brand new. It is also alot of fun to play tag team matches online.Get more detail about WWE Legends of WrestleMania.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Right now

This game is just fun enough, not the best but I gave it 5 stars cause is one of the few games that support split-screen over LAN and that's a huge difference for me.

The other game I know on the PS3 that supports slit-screen over LAN is WarHawk(another great game).

So, if you are planning to make a LAN party this game a is "must have".

Low Price Folklore

Folklore for the ps3 is a ACTION game with very minor rpg elements thrown in. Simply put the action is similar to that of the Kingdom Hearts series, you use a variety of combos to take out your foes. There is no traditional jrpg menu driven combat system in this game. Hence an action/hack n slash title. The reason why this game leans towards rpg is because you can select the types of attacks that you have on hand to use from a variety of attacks that you accumulate throughout the game. Its strong points are the very well executed combat system and the top notch design/graphics/visuals. Where the game falls short is the lack of rpg elements, and a lackluster story. I will elaborate in detail in the following paragraphs.

What is interesting about the combat system is the distinct use of the enemies you defeat. For example the first time you take down the "horned bull" and absorb its "spirit" you can then attack using this spirit and the "horned bull" is visually represented during your attack a few feet in front of your character, visually this is very neat. Furthermore linking together combos from various spirits makes for some distinct gameplay that in my opinion far surpasses the extremely repetitive nature of combat found in games like Kingdom Hearts. There is allot of room for creativity in how and when you combine your attacks/spirits. The combat is very fun and beautifully executed visually, if you are a fan of fantasy styled visuals you will not be disappointed.

Which leads me to what strikes me most about this game, the over all art design and wonderful use of color. The many environments, and various foes look just fantastic. Design wise I would describe the look and feel of this game as Hansel and Gretel meets Final Fantasy meets Wizard of Oz. Very distinct traditional story book vibe meets modern fantasy feel which had me deeply absorbed for the first 5 hours or so simply due to the solid combat and the distinctly gorgeous visuals. Though like most things beautiful that lack "heart", over time the flaws begin to outweigh the visual beauty.

When I said this game is NOT an rpg that is because it isn't in the traditional sense. Your character is in one very small town throughout the game and you interact with a very limited number of characters that you must interact with to unlock the next action driven playable area. There is no open world, various towns, player defined pacing of game play. Which is not a big deal to me, just do not go in with the expectation of jrpg styled exploration. This game is on rails.

And the story. In my opinion the story was convoluted, abstract and bland. There are really no memorable characters in the game. And by around hour 12 I had lost all interest in the unfolding "mystery", I simply didn't care about the story or characters.

That about sums it up Folklore. If you are looking for a different action title to mix into your gaming routine, then I say go for it, the combat is fun and distinct. Again the game looks just great, I am a fan of the art design and the graphics. On the negative side the game itself does not let you "explore", and the story was very hard to follow and boring. The characters are far from memorable and are all image and no heart. I really wanted to love this game as it made such a strong impact at the outset, though over time I just found myself not wanting to "hack it out" to learn more about a story/characters that I simply did not understand/care about. Three star game worth about $15-$20.

Discount PS3 Quad Charge Station

Let me start out by saying that I do NOT own this product. I do however own a different charger (2 controller). Reading the reviews of those before and seeing the price for this product I would conclude that this product is worthless. My 2 controller charger station cost me $30. I would expect that a charging station that charges 4 controllers for under $25 would be a piece of.....you get the picture. I'm not a gamer, I've never been good at them, but I am a stickler for quality. This is a very nice charger. I labeled a medicine bottle right away and put them in it for him.

Don't worry about ordering one of these, they're nice. As a side note, the adaptors don't fit his older controllers, which are DreamGEAR. They are curved at the front whereas the Sonys are straight. But they could be made to work with any controller, with a bit of filing on the clear plastic.

Where To Buy PS3 Intercooler TS

Yes, I know the reviews scream out at how loud they are, but that is the nature of all fan type products. If you have turned on a Vornado fan, it sounds like a mini hurricane in the room or if you turn on the super quiet tower fan, there's still a hum you can hear sometimes just at the threshold of annoying to some very sensitive people.
I used this intercooler for 2 reasons.
1) I have an enclosed TV stand with no ventilation for the back (nothing obstructing the front) and this causes my game systems to get pretty hot every once in a while.
2) It's for peace of mind to keep my PS3 cooler.

So while this intercooler does run a little noisy, chances are the volume of your game or whatever entertainment you get are experiencing will probably drown out the fan.Get more detail about PS3 Intercooler TS.

Buttons feel so nice. If you play street fighter this is essentially a required peripheral. I play guile so the default configuration is perfect. For the price though they should include a bat joystick and a round restrictor plate. If you play a non charge character (most every other character) ur going to want to get the round restrictor plate, or you'll have to listen to your friends complain about how they cant do a fireball (and they'll blame ur awesome joystick and make fun of you for spending 150 bucks!).Get more detail about PS3 Street Fighter IV Round 2 Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition.

Virtua Tennis 2009

I bought this game for around 25 bucks because I love Tennis and have never played a Tennis game for the Playstation console. It is worth it for the Career mode alone. You get to start from the bottom and work your way through the ranks playing hundreds of amateur and pro players along the way. Lots of stadiums, shots and players make this game a must for any tennis fan looking for a good game to play. Unless you need 1080p graphics or extremely flawless graphics this game is for you. There are a couple of glitches during game play, but it doesn't affect the game itself, and the graphics aren't "Top of the Line". Overall I am very happy with my purchase.Get more detail about Virtua Tennis 2009.

The Orange Box Review

I'm very late to the Half Life 2 party, and I'm glad I showed up. This game is a ton of fun, Orange Box includes Half Life 2 with Episode 1 & 2, as well as Portal and Team Fortress 2. So to keep things clean I will review one at a time (the ones I played that is)

>>>Half Life 2/ Episode 1/ Episode 2 (these are all the same gameplay just contiuations of the story)<<<

You start this game off running, literally, you're thrown into the mix of getting attacked by guys with funky masks and people with crab monsters on their heads, its awesome. So lets get down to the things that matter most like gameplay, difficulty, replay value, graphics, audio, and dialog.

Gameplay: This is a FPS (first person shooter) so you have the typical layout where you have your health, which in this case is in the lower left hand corner of your screen, as well as your ammo count and all your other item bars in the lower left hand portion of your screen (flash light meter, AUX suit meter, etc) You can run, jump, and interact with your environment in this game, its very open and lets you move and utilize most of your surroundings, which makes the game that more fun and realistic to play. One downside to this is that there can be times where you get caught in a glitch and may even get stuck (this happend to me many times when driving the cars in the game). Switching between weapons is made easy where you can go from your 0 point gravity gun to a fire arm in no time this makes dicey situations go a little more smoothly.

Difficulty: If your new to FPS games this will be a fun one to play and will probably get you hooked on the genre. I thought the game was more towards the Hard difficulty level than most games out today. Ammo management was the main reason for that not necessarily the strength of the enemies in the game. Puzzles weren't that hard to figure out and would almost unfold for you just by rolling with the flow of the game, I played the games through on the Normal difficulty setting I'm sure Hard difficulty would be quite the challenge - I really prefer to play these games on normal since the harder difficulties can make the game tedious

Replay Value: After all is said and done you probably won't want to go back and replay these suckers, only because the epic journey is done, you had your fill there is nothing left to do except walk away and wait for the dawn of a new day. Yeah basically you play this through once you will be good to go -- I strongly recommend playing them in order and playing them all the story is good and fun to read and get into

Dialog: The in-game dialog is great, the computer charaters aren't annoying and don't continually bother you to do tasks or go places. Generally they run with you where ever you go usually getting in your way in doorways and halls and don't say much. The voice actors do a good job conveying feelings in characters which make the overall game experience seem like your playing out a movie

Graphics: Understand this was made for PC's years before it was released on the PS3 yet it has some awesome settings and great details, goes to show how ahead of its time it was when it came out. I liked the graphics even if they weren't the best, retro is how I roll

Audio: According to the box this isn't any special audio encoding which is a bummer, I would have liked Dolby Digital Pro Logic II for this one since it woulda sounded sexy on my 5.1 setup, but I have a faux 5.1 audio setting on my receiver that did just fine sending surround effects to my back speakers

So Overall this game lived up to its PC hype - the port over to the PS3 wasn't bad at all but nothing beats using a mouse and keyboard to play these kinda games I still enjoyed it

>>>Portal<<<

I'm not going indepth on this game since it has the same graphics/audio/dialog quailties as HL2

Gameplay: You have a portal shooting gun and its basically a gravity gun with portal making powers - you go in a blue portal you pop out the orange one you made - the game bases all the puzzles off this concept

Difficulty: This one can be difficult for some people - I beat the whole game in one sitting - took about 5-6 hrs but there were some tricky puzzles in this and I died numerous times

Overall this game was fun as well but I wouldn't go back and play it again - its kinda like making a 5000 piece puzzle and breaking it apart and starting over not really too fun to do that

In the end you should pick this one up - I recommend getting it used for $20 thats what I did my copy worked fine and gave me $20 worth of enjoyment

Have fun and happy gamingGet more detail about The Orange Box.

Dead to Rights: Retribution Top Quality

I had not played the first Dead to Rights, so this is my review of this game as it stands by itself and not the franchise as a whole. This is a review of the game from the playability aspect and not of the story. You can safely read my whole review and not have the story ruined at all. As I write this I have played it a couple of hours and will update this after I finish the whole game.

Overview:
You play as vice cop Jack Slate. Your job is to clean up Grant City. This game is mostly its a shooter with a different twist where your pet is a vicious fighting machine.

Game mechanics:(+)
If you ever played World Of Warcraft and played a hunter class you will be familiar with playing through your pet, (Shadow). This game takes that mechanic and builds on it by allowing you to control your pet with more "nuance", the end result is that its not just about going in guns blazing. Instead you must anticipate how Shadow will respond to the environment and also the threats. Its a pretty cool mix of the ideas of combat. Of course as Jack you can do your own special moves .

Shadow's forms: (+)
The cool thing is as Shadow you can play three different modes; one being a rogue like class where Shadow actually hunkers down and walks like a ninja dog, you know, if ninja dogs existed that is. Another one of his forms is a neutral fighter mode which is like a standard fighter class. The last form is the berserker form which is like all other berserker archetypal character. You do much more damage but are significantly weaker as far as armor.

Graphics: (+)
On the PS3 this looks fantastic. The textures are really sharp and detailed. At times there are alot of shadows and it can be difficult to see certain areas, but thats where Shadow comes in. Jack is kinda clunky appearing at times, but overall the look and appearance of the game as a whole is really crisp.

Lighting: (+)
The shadows look great! Usually in PS3 games there are jaggy shadows. In this I see them but not nearly as bad as say AC2. All in all they are crisp and flow over the objects in the game very well.

Motion Capture: (+)
The motion capture in this game is REALLY smooth. Especially with regards to Shadow, the dog animation looks very lifelike. During the fight sequences there are times Jack looks a bit like a puppet, but overall the motion is smooth.

Fighting (+/-)
Hand to hand: (+)
The hand to hand fighting in this is spot on and a real fun part of the game. At times the moves are easy to execute because the built in character AI anticipates the moves you are trying to do, just enough to not be annoying.

Shooting: (-)
I didnt like the shooting in this game. It at times seemed off and a bit difficult to aim. I am not sure if it was the lack of aim assist or too much of it. Either way it was kind of hard to shoot at times.

Shadow: (+)
He tears this game up. I almost think that I would enjoy playing solely as Shadow for the whole game and just assume he could talk to people. It really is fun playing him as a pet and also as his own character. Very cool moves and vicious attacks.

Environments: (-)
The environments are standard post-apocalyptic fare. The mobs you are fighting are eh... ok. The ai is fine but the weird thing is the story has some glaring holes in it. I wont cover them here as to keep the no spoilers aspect of my reviews correct. Suffice to say you may be wondering what or where things are coming from, from time to time.

Replayability: (-)
I have not finished this yet but I do not see me being all that interested in replaying this just for trophies like I would for Assassins Creed II or Uncharted 1/2. It looks like I may play it one more time but after that I wouldn't be interested in playing it again.

Summary: (+)
This game sofar has been a blast to play and I look forward to finishing it. While its not perfect, it does offer some great story telling and the animations for Shadow are fantastic. It looks like they used motion capture for his animation. Jack is fun to play and its overall a really enjoyable game to play. I may change my story once I finish it.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition Immediately

When I heard that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a good game, I wondered if it was a joke. A good game based on a mediocre movie? No way. But I went and bought the game, and low and behold, I was having a blast within the first 5 minutes. No other game has made me feel as awesome as Wolverine. THIS is how Wolverine's other games should've been. No limits on using claws, no toned down violence, no melodramatic plots, just straight up action. The funny thing is that I normally don't like violent games, but this one's just so over the top that it sucked me in.

The story? I didn't pay much attention to it to tell you the truth. You play between the present day story and one from 3 years earlier- Wolverine in the jungle while on a military operation. A lot of it has to do with revenge on his brother Victor Creed, and superior William Stryker. The game's all about action though, and chances are that you won't care for the plot anyway. Wolverine goes from location to location tearing everyone a new one, and taking on some major X-Men characters along the way.

The number of ways Wolverine kills his enemies is impressive. The first one that really got me was when he lunged to a helicopter, smashed through the glass, then pulled the pilot out and held him up so the helicopter blades decapitated him, and created a huge red swirl. My jaw dropped when I saw that since I didn't see it coming. In fact, I replayed that scene 4 times just to do it again- it's that cool. Enemies also get dismembered in different ways depending on how you slash them. Wolverine can also use objects in the environment to quickly dispatch them as well, like wooden spikes, mini-cement mixers, forklifts and more. You have three main attacks- light slash, heavy slash and throw, and then 4 special attacks as well that can be used when you build your Rage meter up. Wolverine also has a great Lunge ability where you lock on to an enemy, and as long as the view isn't blocked or they're not too far/high, he'll leap toward them and you can go from there with how you want to attack. The Lunge is awesome, and I loved that there'd be certain parts where the camera would switch to right in front of the enemy so you'd see Wolverine pop up behind them. Comedic gold right there. Also, Wolverine's healing factor and Feral Sense are here. You heal after a few seconds, as long as you're not getting attacked, and this helps gameplay so you're not constantly looking for health packs. Pressing up on the d-pad changes the visuals and highlights key locations and points you out on where to go next, kind of like the guide feature in Dead Space.

So why the average rating? I wanted to give this 3.5 stars, but since I couldn't I rounded down due to some of the problems. First- the boss fights aren't that fun, at all. These guys take forever to whittle down, even the first boss which later appears as more of a mini-boss. I found myself getting bored. One that really got me was the boss in chapter 4 where I had to restart the battle NINE TIMES because it'd constantly glitch on me, and he'd either disappear from the level completely, or he'd get stuck on part of the platform and freeze, not taking any damage no matter how I attacked. So I had to be very careful with how I fought him just to try and prevent glitches. That part nearly made me quit on the game. Lastly, gameplay gets really repetitive by level 3. Since Wolverine doesn't have a lot of different combos, most attacks look the same and all of them are equally effective.

Visually, the game's a mixed bag. When the camera zooms in on character models, they either look good, or like an early-ps2 game. Cutscenes looked phenomenal though. And you gotta love how they show Wolverine's injuries in-game while he heals. Watching him run around with a hole blasted through his chest was just plain cool. The voice acting's all good too- no complaints here.

While I did have fun playing the game at first, 20+ hours is a long time to be doing a lot of the same attacks and fun-deprived boss fights. This was definitely a great effort on the developer's part, and the game deserves the good scores it's gotten, but the glitches (especially in that boss fight) kept me from wanting to play through it again. Definitely get this though if you want a non-stop action game.Get more detail about X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Best Quality

The breadth of awesome that this game delivers is astounding, so lets take it one step at a time. The guns are satisfying to shoot, look fantastic (you can read serial numbers and discern scratches and dings), and are even fun to watch reload. The controls are pretty standard FPS, but overall movement is generally remarkably smooth (though you will at times curse the heavens after you couldn't go prone to avoid enemy fire because you were a bit too close to a wall). The graphics are immersive. The maps look beautiful and promote some great gunfights, but do tend to have a few places that are a bit too powerful (one way in, one way out, great visibility, plenty of cover, and enough room to avoid incoming grenades. A mini-fridge is about the only other thing you could ask for.) The perk system makes multiplayer addictive, as you try to find the perfect combination of perks to maximize the lethality of your play-style. In fact, it was only after being on multiplayer intravenously for a couple weeks before I finally found some time to realize that the campaign is just as good.

The reasons this game will rock your world are to plentiful to list in full, leaving every criticism to fall firmly within the category of nit-pickery. Play this game.Get more detail about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Rock Band 2 Double Cymbal Expansion Kit Get it now!

I must admit that when all the Cymbals were functional it added a great "authentic" feel to my Rock Band 2 drum kit.
However after about 3wks of drumming I noticed the Cymbals where not responding well until they eventually stopped working all together. It was fun while it lasted but not worth the price for the quality of the product.Get more detail about Rock Band 2 Double Cymbal Expansion Kit.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent Buy Now

I was actually disappointed in the graphics, for being "next gen"...it lags on frame rate too much for my taste. Sure The newer "Conviction" Splinter Cell looks fabulous, but the previous splinter cells looked awesome, especially the shadowing and light reflection on wet surfaces. The game is fun though, be carefull for the missions Not to Kill anyone, even if you knock them out , it counts against your overall stealth Level.Get more detail about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent.

WET Order Now

WET is horribly broken in both controls and visuals. A slight turn will send your character, Rubi, rushing off a cliff and anything that should be illuminated to show a path is instead hidden in shadows. On the harder difficulties there is essentially only one right way to complete each battle so constant retries will frustrate even the most hardcore gamer.

That being said, WET is very fun and unique. After finally "learning" how to deal with the wonky controls and after playing a level enough times to map it out in your head, you'll be amazed at how efficiently and stylishly Rubi will clear a room full of baddies. WET is filled with plenty of flaws but the care and attention to detail is quite evident. The voice acting and overall story presentation are top notch, almost to the level of a Hollywood film. The level design gets gimmicky here and there but most sections are a blast to play through. Despite the horribly awkward controls and other misgivings, WET deserves a chance; if only to make enough sales for a sequel which could fix these mistakes.

NCAA Basketball 10 Right now

I'm not the player here, so this review is based on feedback from a special teen, who signs his text messages "MVP dis year." Since MVP's brother got the game for Christmas and is stingy with sharing it, MVP asked for his own game for his birthday. Two of the same $60-game in the same house seems silly to me, but I relented. He called and texted me everyday until I ordered it, then he called and texted every day until Amazon delivered it and I put it in his hot little hands. As a guy that loves all things basketball and has almost as many games and films of the sport as he has books, he's a credible critic. He says this game is "the best."

In my initial review, I gushed accolades that apparently failed to convey how good this game is. In a followup interview with MVP, I asked for specifics. He said that he would rate this a 6-star game because (1) you can tell this is a real upgrade compared to NCAA 9, and (2) NCAA 10 has no real competition in or out of the PS3 format. There are so many functions in 10 that are not available in 9, e.g., you can choose ESPN or CBS; fully create players with an array of physical attributes, like body build, skin tone, hair style; and select any shoe type, style and brand. Another plus: The player's college major and class status are displayed at the free-throw line. To sum it up, the graphics are so true that you will think you're watching a TV broadcast.Get more detail about NCAA Basketball 10.

Lowest Price PS3 DJ Hero Bundle with Turntable

So I played Guitar Hero on demo and was quite impressed, it was fun and I enjoyed it. So i went into the market immediately and after reviewing I found that Dj Hero would be more to my liking and I am definitely satisfied. Easy to setup with a simple switch for leftys and rightys, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone (especially if you ever wanted to be a dj) Forewarning: I have never been a dj so I have no idea what it feels like to be one but this game brings my dj fantasy to life!

Pros:

1)Great music!! Lots of great mixing of various rock and hip hop tracks.

2)Loads of unlockables!! Has different venues, dj clothes and decks (turntables for your selected dj) to unlock.

3)They have a mode that teaches you the game very quickly. They also have easy mode which anybody can play, all the way to expert which is the best because it makes you feel like an actual dj.

Cons:

1)No create a dj. Many people probably dont care about this but they should think about adding it. Many people like to see themselves in the game via created player.

2)Rewind messes up your multiplier at times. You rewind the turntables and are unable to pick up where you left off thus ruining you multiplier at times.

3)Dj dances uncontrollably while you are vigorously scratching away at times. Kinda funny and not that huge a deal but should be an easy fix.

Overall I would give it 4.5/5 I will definitely be getting part 2 later this year!Get more detail about PS3 DJ Hero Bundle with Turntable.

Low Price Lair

So a friend of mine has had Lair for quite a while, and he never played through it. The main gripe, like many others, was the fact that the controls sucked. He knew there was a PSN update which allowed analog controls, but decided to stick to Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls regardless, and who can blame him? This is where I come in. I borrowed Lair from my friend a couple of weeks ago, and sat down to play it yesterday.

At first glance, Lair is beautiful! Running at 1080p, and using eye candy galore, Lair obviously was not spared on the production value for graphics side of things. Although the ground units all are fairly simple and not very detailed, the main character models and cut-scenes are amazing! Although the camera can get a little crazy at times, it isn't a huge deal if you're patient with the game, and in my opinion doesn't have any affect on the shear beauty of this game.

On the controls front, I'll admit I did get frustrated at times. When doing a lock-on the camera goes into a cinematic view which really makes it harder for one to keep a bearing on where you are afterwards. Sometimes I would lock onto catapults to fire at them; instead, my dragon would swoop down and clamp on to them. This would require I shake the Wii-mo, I mean PS3 Dual Shock up and down vigorously so my dragon could basically rip the catapult from its base so I could toss it. The fairly bad lock-on system coupled with the fact that your flight controls are inverted no matter what definitely make the controls part of this game bring down it's overall rating from me.

Gameplay to me in a game like this is very important. I liked the fact that there were a few different things one could do with the dragons, not just basically "dog-fight" with other dragons. There were the rhinos, warbeasts, catapults, ships, and other miscellaneous objectives that were set to be destroyed. Allowing three lives per level made it fairly easy to complete each level, but you still had to complete the level well if you wanted to receive medals for it. The game only has about 14 levels, though, so there really isn't much replay value. I think all-in-all it took me MAYBE 5 hours to complete the entire game, which just isn't acceptable. I expected the game to be fairly short, but not this much so. The absence of PS3 trophies also discouraged me from wanting to go back and do more, although there are online leaderboards.

Overall, I think this is a fairly decent game that got a very bad initial review due to the hype disappointment. The graphics and sounds are stunning, the controls are just meh, and the replay value is meh as well. I would say borrow it from a friend like I did, or buy it on [...] for under 10 bucks. It's definitely worth at least a look before writing it off as some others have.Get more detail about Lair.
